Anatolia College IB students present their idea for a digital company in front of the Hellenic SEN-JA Committee

The Anatolia College IB Company Program was invited to present its digital company, founded from scratch, in front of the Hellenic SEN-JA Committee.

On Friday, 6 March 2015, a group of 12 students packed up an idea developed over the course of 8 months and headed to Mediterranean Cosmos for the Hellenic Trade Fair. The task: represent Nutriginal, a health and nutrition business aiming to target two habits the Greek population has developed over the recent years: obesity and malnutrition. The product our team created is called Nutrius, an online nutritionist website, which combines the entrepreneurship skills of 11th and 12th grade Business and Economics students with the expertise of eminent people in the areas of food and diet (dieticians), exercise (gymnasts) and business (professors and counselors). As aforementioned, the Company Program dealt with two challenges: first, the set-up of Nutriginal, with the division of student-volunteers to different sectors of operation (Marketing, Production, Finance and Human Resources) and a leader, or CEO, to coordinate activities. Secondly, the conception and construction of Nutrius, the website-in-progress that will conglomerate the value of already-existing nutritionist products, which allow people to lead a healthier lifestyle, and the time reduction concerning adapting such a lifestyle, since gyms, dieticians and restaurants, become more accessible.

Hence, on March 6th, 29 teams met up from all over Northern Greece to present their original ideas. Unsurprisingly, the standards and tension were high, since less than a third of the teams participating would move to the next level and compose the business plans of their respective companies. Most original companies created tangible/concrete objects, inspired by the local agriculture. Thus, a great variety of soap odors and natural product smells filled the air or the area and generated a more welcoming and relaxed ambiance. However, not a small amount of teams hesitated from taking the risk of going out of their comfort zones to create digital products, like websites and Android/Apple applications, which were better represented in total, thanks to the holistic approaches of the different groups in terms of business administration.

Within a week, the results of the competition will be announced and, hopefully, the Anatolia IB Company Program will have the chance to present its idea to a wider audience.
